We only source the highest-quality ingredients – bones from organically raised, grass-fed animals, fresh vegetables, whole, fresh herbs and spices to make every batch. We then simmer it for approximately 18 hours, one batch at a time, to ensure maximum nutrient density in every cup. This process takes time, and costs money. It’s not the easiest way to make bone broth, but we know it’s the only way.
Our ratio of bones to water is close to 1:1 resulting in broth rich in collagen and other proteins. Unlike other brands, which are made from concentrate, Brodo is always made from bones. We incorporate fresh organic vegetables for better flavor and more well-rounded nutrition. We use no preservatives, that’s why we ship frozen. As a result, Brodo has intact gelatin, not broken down, like the shelf-stable broth in the paper cartons you find on grocery store shelves.
We get all of our bones from cooperatives and family farms. Our beef bones are from 100% grass-fed animals, fed on open pastures, never feedlots and are free of antibiotics and hormones. Our poultry (chicken and turkey) are certified organic and raised on pasture. They are fed a vegetarian diet free of GMO’s, antibiotics, chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
There is! We have a seaweed-based broth made from wild seaweed, mushrooms and organic vegetables. It’s currently available in our NY locations. We hope to bring it to you country-wide soon.

Our sodium levels vary slightly, 450-550 milligrams per 8oz serving. We season to taste and only use mineral-rich sea salt.

The broth is shipped frozen. Depending on where you’re located and the shipment method, the broth will arrive cold to partially frozen.
To ensure product safety - we only ship Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Orders recieved after 5pm on Tuesdays will ship the following week.
Warm broth is wonderful when you drink it straight from a cup. It’s also great for cooking soups, risottos, stews and more. In your shipment you’ll find a recipe guide full of ideas inspired by our shops.
From the fridge: Pour your desired amount of broth in a pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. From the freezer: Run container under cold water to loosen. Empty into a pot. Bring entire contents to a simmer in a covered pot.
The gelatin thaws last, so heat the entire container at once, or give it a good mix before heating a portion.
Absolutely. We suggest thawing it all and then re-freezing in ice cube trays so you can use it more easily for cooking or sipping as needed.
Your broth is good for a week in the fridge. Refreeze and it keeps for up to a year.
